Garden Visitor Information

 

Opening - Dedicated open days for the NGS, Red Cross and Hospice Care charities. The garden is also open by appointment for visiting groups.

Charitable Open Days 2015

National Garden Scheme : Sunday 7th June 1-5pm

British Red Cross : Sunday 26th July 1-5pm

Parking - the drive can hold 8 cars or a coach and additional parking is available in the paddock if dry.

Facilities - Tea/coffee/cake can be provided. There is toilet access. Small numbers of plants may be available for sale.

Entrance Fee - Entrance Fee - £3 or £5 including refreshments

Access - Unfortunately the majority of the garden does not lend itself to wheelchair access and contains some grass paths and slopes which can be slippery when wet. There are plenty of seats around the garden on which to relax.

Location - Long Edge Lane, Rowley, Nr Castleside, Co. Durham. DH8 9HG. 5 miles from Lanchester and 2½ miles from Castleside.

Directions - Castleside lies on the A68 trunk road between Corbridge and West Aukland.

  • From the crossroads in Castleside take the A68 South towards Tow Law (up Rowley bank). In approx 2 miles you will approach a crossroads.
  • Right takes you to Muggleswick left takes you towards Lanchester. Go left towards Lanchester.
  • Oliver Ford Farm and Gardens will be found on the left hand side in approx 2/3 of a mile in the obvious dip in the road. The property on the right hand side that looks like a farm is Oliver Ford House and will be seen before you get to Oliver Ford Farm when coming from this direction.
